The redevelopment will transform an underused, bleak open space into a vibrant and interactive reserve that residents of all ages can enjoy.
Due to numerous tree protection zones, we were required to redesign the new concrete footpath to weave around the shallow roots while maintaining DDA regulations. This redesign also added a creative and whimsical feel to the playspace entrance.
Strategic and careful planning was required to maintain safe access along the separated workzones for pedestrians and the residents adjacent the site.
By adopting our waste management practices and sustainability targets, this project saved 3m³ of recyclable materials from landfill, used 156t of salvaged materials, and incorporated sustainable materials such as recycled polymer reinforced concrete and salvaged timber seating logs.
