This project comprised an upgrade of the central courtyard of an operational school including:
Demolition of existing asphalt courts and structures
New concrete and paved footpaths
Custom amphitheatre and timber arbor
Furniture & seating pods
Shade sails & Kaurna inspired artwork
Boulder water fountain with stone inlaid creek and reflection pond
Irrigation system
Advances trees and zoned planting
Vegetable planters and garden beds.
Site access was restricted, requiring a modified approach to importing and exporting materials and safely executing earthworks.
The works were undertaken in an operational primary school and required strategic and careful planning to maintain safe access to the perimeter of the courtyard for students and faculty.
The custom curved timber amphitheatre required a bespoke framing design to accommodate the natural timber cladding and artwork panels.
By adopting our waste management practices and sustainability targets, this project saved 4m³ recyclable materials saved from landfill, recycled 7 tonne of steel, and reused 346t of salvaged materials in the new works.
